Pricing and lead times for stainless steel countertops are calculated based on the number of fabrication hours required. The actual cost of stainless steel sheet(s) is only a small part of the overall cost. As you would expect the more complicated countertops will cost more per square foot. The “L” Shape, 7-Edge Shape, “U” Shape, and Radius (Curved) Shape countertops typically require two or more sheets to be welded together. The welding process itself is quite difficult for even the most experienced welders since you need to avoid any distortion in the material. Once the countertop sections have been joined the welded seams must be ground down and polished. For simple rectangular countertops pricing ranges from $70.00 – $80.00 per square foot depending on the overall size. This excludes oversized rectangular countertops that must be welded together from two or more sheets. Below find an example for a rectangular countertop that is 120″ in length and 30″ in width.

= $1750.00
The above example includes the countertop mounted on a 3/4″ wood substrate with four (4) finished straight ‘box’ edges. The following options are available at an additional cost:

Fabrication times for stainless steel countertops depend on many factors. Below find estimated fabrication times for typical stainless steel countertops:
- Rectangle Shape (Less Than: 135″ Long x 40″ Wide): 1 Week Lead Time
- ‘L’ Shape: 2-3 Weeks Lead Time
- 7-Edge Shape: 2-3 Weeks Lead Time
- ‘U’ Shape: 3-5 Weeks Lead Time
- Radius (Curved) Shape: 3-5 Weeks Lead Time
