In recent years stainless steel has become a popular choice for both interior and exterior signage. It is bright, reflective, modern looking, and extremely durable. The life of a stainless steel sign will far exceed traditional steel and aluminum signs. This is mainly due to its ability to resist corrosion from moisture and humidity. Stainless steel signage is also very easy to clean – simply brush with soap and water and rinse.
With our laser cutting machinery we are able to use your existing designs. In most cases there is no conversion required as long as the design has been created in a vector based format. This file is put through our state of the art programming software and sent straight to the machinery for cutting.
There are many types of signage that we have fabricated over the years:
Metal Panels with Vinyl Graphics
A metal panel can either be fabricated as a flat piece or have bends on all edges giving the panel depth which resembles a cover similar to a shoe box lid. These metal panels are available in any size, depth, material, and finish. The most common materials would be aluminum, steel, and stainless steel. Aluminum and steel materials are usually anodized, plated, painted, or power coated to protect the metal. Although stainless steel does not require protection it can also be plated, painted, or powder coated. Stainless steel is also available in many grades and finishes. The vinyl graphics are then applied to the outside of this panel and it is ready for installation.
Metal Panels with Raised Metal Letters
This is a very similar design to the previous sign with the exception that instead of vinyl graphics this panel will have raised metal letters. The metal letters that are mounted on this panel are typically solid throughout and thus have a maximum thickness of 1/2”. The letters can be aluminum, steel, or stainless steel.
Metal Panels with Cut Out Letters
This design involves cutting out the letters directly in the metal panel. The actual letter cut outs are not required and are usually discarded. Typically with this sign a translucent acrylic backer will be placed behind the metal panel. LED lights are then installed behind the acrylic which allows the light to flow through the cut outs illuminating the letters.
Solid Metal Letters
These metal letters are fabricated in either aluminum, steel, or stainless steel. They come in a maximum thickness of 1/2”. These letters are scaled to size and laser cut according to the vector document provided. In most cases these letters will require spacers, standoffs, rods, or pins for mounting.
Hollow Metal Letters
For letters that exceed 1/2” thick we offer hollow fabricated metal. These letters are also available in aluminum, steel, or stainless steel. Hollow metal letters are more difficult to fabricate and are only available in large sizes of 12” in height or taller. These letters are typically used for exterior signage and also require spacers, standoffs, rods, or pins for mounting purposes.
